STIMULUS + WITCHER
= Double Double Blamanimal Style
Well, once again I missed my own newsletter announcing the release of my new book STIMULUS: a series of original stories written by Daniel Freedman (Birdking, Kali) featuring an esteemed roster of international artists: Robert Sammelin • Stefano Realdini • Filya Bratukhin • Lorenzo Nuti • Arianna Farricella • Henrik SahllstrÖm • Dan Morison • Amilcar Pinna • Dilraj Mann • Gavin Dias • Tomm Coker • Debbie Tsoi
A blood soaked briefcase full of cash. A mind reader hellbent on crime. An errant soldier turned hitman. Earthly homunculus. Crystal women. Men made of stars. Deviant frog people. Sorceress succubi. Advanced space-force fighter pilots. Avenging vampires. Sentient sentimental AI constructs. Alien voyeurs. The demigod spawn of heart-broken angels. Cyber enhanced mercenary thieves. Death races. Unfulfilled ancient prophecies. Lost valor. Stolen principles. And the supernatural plant known as “SeaFarer” that ties them all together.
STIMULUS is available now for pre order from your local comic book shop or online shipping retailer like Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

WITCHER: BLOOD STONE #4
Today sees the finale of my Witcher miniseries Blood Stone. After months of terror and build up, the conclusion is upon us.
Will Geralt save the town? Probably not. Will he defeat the monster? Maybe. Will Geralt ride off into the sunset happy and complete. Definitely not. (If for no other reason than I dispatched of Geralt’s beloved horse Roach in issue 3 (spoiler alert!)).
During my research, I came across a little known detail about Geralt and his horse Roach. There was a single throw away line in one of the original novels where Geralt says he names all his horses Roach. It occurred to me that Roach was not a single horse but whatever horse Geralt was riding at the time. I asked if that meant I could kill the specific Roach he’s riding in my story and they said no one had ever done that before and then they said okay, kill the horse. As much as I hated doing it, killing Roach may be my everlasting mark, or scar, I leave upon the Witcher.
I am contemplating doing a signing at SDCC in July. I will announce that once it’s confirmed.
That’s it, for now.
Until then…

This is dripping with atmospheric style.
